Aswan
As ever pursuing my quest for spiritual treasures possessed by sites, cities and countries, erected, populated and established by people, both ancient and modern ….
I continue to stretch out and renew the links between past, present and future. I remain preoccupied with protecting the positive energy of art, steering it towards the ability to impart light, warmth, optimism and confidence… For this, once more I stand before Aswan, to be embraced by its warmth, incandescence and light… by the golden mountains in the West, the rose coloured hills in the East, the deep hues of its unyielding rocks in the South...
I encounter the presence of its cheerful Nile, that kindly Nile carrying white sail boats and dark skinned faces, exuding fragrances of pure silt. Aswan is not a mere pleasure spot amidst the dark morass of conflict fomented by contemporary man. Steeped in ancient history, it is a civilizational beacon capable of perpetually radiating spiritual waves of vibrations and inspirations of the greatest import. Aswan, with its natural splendour, artistic and archeological glory possesses an unparalleled potential to deepen man’s humanity. Let us therefore join together to safeguard its ingenuity and protect it from the imbalances of civilization.
