THE ENDURING MAGIC OF THE NILE

From: 14-3-2010 To: 7-4-2010

THE NILE

One acknowledged and definitive role of art is to fuel people's zest for life on our little planet. Historically speaking, Egypt reigns supreme in achieving the magical fusion of the aesthetic, intellectual and visual dimensions of art that is needed for this revitalizing role.

Egyptian art stands out in that it possesses a mix of inspirational elements full of warmth and hope which, in turn, impart a sense of contentment and well-being to the beholder.

This collection is devoted to a theme that is close to the heart of our Egyptian cultural legacy and indeed that of the whole world. It is the Nile... that living force which has ever stirred the emotions of artists, poets, thinkers, writers and even scientists. Inspirational and expressive, the Nile is multi-tiered; it touches both our imagination and our sorrows...a bountiful and life-giving force on earth...always murmuring in my ear of Egypt's past...it also speaks to me of a future whose horizons are broad and unfettered...it is my haven when I am overwhelmed by problems. This is the Nile, the embodiment of love, purity, and beauty...a loving and steadfast friend to all of humanity... forever magical and captivating.
